Who are you guys?

Airedale terrier club of victoria inc

www.airedaleclub Dedicated to the Welfare and Promotion of Airedale Terriers focus on Victoria in Australia
As this year sees Australia remembering the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing by Australian and New Zealand (Under British command) troops and as we all know Airedales were very involved in the First World War showing great courage, bravery, loyalty and ability our club is dedicating the year to Airedale Warriors. Americans too used Airedales as base mascots and in other capacities and indeed called their Navy Pilots Airedales.

We will conduct a 100 Airedale walk in the city of Melbourne on August 30th. We will include a Paul Clarke ‘Daring Dale’ comic in each issue of our magazine ‘The Airedaler’ and we will have a specially commissioned logo on memorable objects to be available for the walk. Possibly kerchiefs or Polo T Shirts or caps.

We now launch our dedication Poetry competition. Airedale lovers who are budding poets are invited to contribute ballads, sonnets, haiku or any form of poetry either here on Facebook or by email to [email protected] All contributions will become the property of The Airedale Terrier Club of Victoria Inc. and may be published in our quarterly magazine, The Airedaler, or a dedicated publication of poems of courage, bravery, loyalty, ability and love. All poems should either by title or text be easily identified as being Airedale Specific.

As Airedales have been involved in forces of other countries we do not limit this anthology to British military dogs so the competition is open to the entire Airedale World. Closing date is November 1st but sooner rather than later is preferred and once our publishing commitment is completed we will think of other ways to enjoy submissions.
I wish to thank members, exhibiters and friends who have been involved in the Club events of this weekend. Welcome to Australia to our USA Airedale breeder/judges Todd and April Clyde and a very big thank you for joining us and sharing your knowledge in judging, grooming and judges training program. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your stay in Melbourne and have a safe and uneventful journey home. To Jan and Colin McRae who came over to judge for West Gippsland and then contributed so much to April and Todd in Transport and Friendship my sincere appreciation. Above all, I once more thank not just as club president on behalf of members but from my own heart as friend, Sue 0ne and Sue Two. Actually there is no Sue Two but TWO wonderful Sues who have given so very much to our club over many years now. Christened one and two by Julio Maria De Cristofaro from Argentina when he judged our show, Sue Wilson and Sue Henderson continue to be marvelous friends of the club, international guests and so many club members. Thank you one and all.

From the 1920's.

Recommend watching Dr Kevin's TV Program. After all, he does own an Airedale.

A great day at the Vic Dogs Big Day Out for Dogs. The ATCV, despite being stuck away in a hard to find spot, had quite a few visitors interested in our breed. Our banner could be seen above the other gazebos etc. Thanks to Keith Lovell, Sue Wilson and Sue Henderson for organising the display and setting up and dismantling at the end of the day. Also to other Committee and Club members for their support on the day. And of curse to Spice, Audrey, Evie and Marly for their contribution to the event. We will be back next year to set up a bigger and better display, having gathered many ideas from others.

Thinking of a theme for the Anzac anniversary next year for our Airedale Birthday Walk.

85th Birthday Walk

A few more great pics from the great day. One tired puppy, some warn out committee and 73 Airedales on a walk.
